About Covering Providers

evidence-based treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), through the EMDR International Association.

This education contributes to an unwieldy string of initials, but at Wellspring, we keep things simple and refer to Dr. Roblyer as Kathy. Younger patients usually find it comfortable to call her Miss Kathy.

Kathy began her nursing career in oncology, critical care, and emergency nursing. She stepped away from formal nursing practice to grow a large family through birth and adoption. The family found themselves immersed in the world of mental health care as they sought treatment for several older adopted children with a history of early childhood trauma. This journey provided the motivation for Kathy to re-enter nursing as a PMHNP. She is particularly interested in trauma, adoption, and the connections between chronic medical issues and mental health.

Kathy has worked in a variety of mental health and medical settings over the years—private practice, medical and psychiatric hospitals, multi-specialty organizations, and an integrated care clinic for the underserved. The strengths and weaknesses of each system have contributed to the Wellspring vision. Doctoral research related to the integration of mental health care and primary care has also shaped Kathy’s professional goals.

Like most nurse practitioners, Kathy emphasizes patient education. She looks for relationships between physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social aspects of a person's life in promoting health. She strongly believes in the potential of each individual to influence society in a positive way and enjoys helping others to find their best self in the midst of the challenges they face.
